Busy, busy day at the Martin Luther church on Sunday, August 23. The installation of Sunday School teachers for the upcoming was held during the worship service. In addition, the newest preschool students received their “Beginners Bible”. Included were: Millie Atkins, Callahan Damme, Landon Jones, Rory Meiergerd, Cooper Meyer, Emma Rippe, Landon Riggins, and Kelbi Williams. The seventh-grade students received their Bibles for upcoming confirmation classes. They include: Kyler Beethe, Sutton Eggers, Dillon Meyer, Quinn Miller, Maycee Reed, and Charlee Hameister.
After the worship service, participants enjoyed a delightful spread of sandwiches, desserts, and the eagerly anticipated ice cream. 
Then the youngsters were off and away, taking one bag at a time and filling each with the essentials necessary for the school kit. 
They went from station to station to collect items for the school bags. 
Each bag contained two notebooks, construction paper, single pocket folder, crayons, colored pencils, ruler, pencils, pens, eraser, pencil sharpener, glue sticks and a scissors. 
The 250 school kits are taken to Orphan Grain Train in Lincoln and will be distributed locally, nationally, and in other countries where needed. Read about OGT. Orphan Grain Train
The freewill donation of $527 was collected for the lunch and was given to the Johnson-Brock Backpack program.
