The 18th Annual Consignment Sale of Martin Luther Church was held on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
Seven days prior to the sale the MLC volunteers began their time of manning grounds braving a blizzard on that very first day. It had already been a long winter and the week ahead of them only brought more of the extreme cold and snowy weather. Their second day involved cleaning snow off the nearly twelve acres of sale grounds before they could start lining up the equipment that the consignors brought in.
Consignors braved the elements to get ag equipment broke free from the frozen ground. They transported hay, hedge posts, harvest equipment, trucks, pickups and a vast assortment of other ag equipment to the sale grounds where the MLC volunteers were ready to check in, log, and line up those items in preparation for the March 2 sale day.
Sale day was a cold and breezy 19° with another snow on the way later that night. MLC volunteers directed traffic of those arriving and the grounds became a sea of brown duck as the 9:30 start time of the Consignment Sale neared.
As usual the MLC Women were prepared the feed the crowd and provide food and beverages to warm those hearty sale attendees who were braving the cold while making their purchases.
God continues to bless this congregation. We are thankful to the Lord for the talented and hard-working volunteers He has granted to MLC those who give of their time and resources to make this day successful. Martin Luther Church is very thankful to the surrounding communities who continue to support this project with their consignments and also their purchases. This church enjoys giving back in supporting local and regional charitable projects. In the past years the list that the MLC Women’s Food Stand and the Consignment Sale have been able to support include Back Pack Programs, local rescue squads, SENCA, food pantries, Neighbor to Neighbor, Mosaic (Martin Luther Home), Project Response, homeless missions in Lincoln and Omaha, and others.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. ~ Colossians 3:17
