In June, Martin Luther Church members gave donations to enable a Mercy Meals packing event. A Mercy Meals packet consists of rice, soy, vegetables, flavoring, vitamins, and minerals. One sealed packet contains six portions to feed someone in need. Packets are shipped worldwide, nationally, and also used locally. More here: Mercy Meals Nebraska
On August 3rd twenty-nine volunteers from the church gathered at the Lincoln warehouse to pack meals for an hour and a half. A little time spent and 12,096 meals were packed. Funds from the MLC mission project are also being paid forward and will help fund a future group to pack even more meals at the Mercy Meals facility.
