It was a busy morning at Martin Luther Lutheran Church on November 9th.  We’ve participated in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child for many years but this year was the biggest yet at 305 boxes prepared at a packing event. Thanks to a generous donor, this packing event will provide many gospel opportunities for children around the world.

Soccer balls, cuddly bears, hygiene items, wearable items, and school items all fit into the boxes!

It is a fun project for MLC and we pray that each box that is filled here arrives exactly where God determines to provide gospel opportunities as well as the lovingly packed shoebox.  Last year we received a few replies from kids who had just received a box in their community events.  Each of our shoeboxes has a picture of MLC members taped into the lid of the shoebox.  Seeing the kids open their boxes and displaying the MLC picture in the box, just warmed our hearts!

A young boy checks out the Operation Christmas Child box he receives from our 2024 MLC packing party.

In addition, families pack boxes in their homes to donate to the project and all boxes will be taken to the Collection Point in Tecumseh on the week of November 17.   The final wrap up to this project will be reported in the 2025 Mission Recap on the MLC blog in December.
